Designed to Awaken Awareness and Empower ALL Singers to make choices that work for their body!

(For Teens and Beyond!)

Does this sound like you?

  • You studied music in college, maybe even performed professionally - but your body is changing and you’re not confident with your sound anymore.

  • You’re a teen singer, just getting started, and you want to see if singing lessons are for you.

  • You long to sing with your whole heart. But as you've gotten older, singing seems harder. You've always wanted to do it with more ease and understanding.

  • You always wanted to sing, but you stopped after someone told you didn't have a good voice (family member, teacher, friend).

  • You're singing in your school or community choir, and you're worried that you're not good enough - or that you're singing out of tune.

  • You’re not sure why your voice is breathy sometimes, and you wonder if you’re doing something wrong.

  • You find yourself pushing in order to extend your range and project your voice, but by the end of the day you’re losing your voice.

If you resonated with one (or all) of these - then these classes are for YOU!

Group voice classes are a great way to improve your sound, discover how the voice works, learn fun new music, and meet singers who want to feel more confident - just like you!!

The Whole Singer: Singing Through Anatomy and Awareness

You are whole. Your body does not function in pieces and parts. It is not separate from your mind. Everything is connected.  Each movement causes a chain reaction throughout the rest of you.  Your thoughts create a change in your system.  Your HORMONES cause changes, too!

In this set of classes, we will explore the anatomy (head to feet and everything in between) and how a change in one part of the structure impacts ALL of you.  This is the course to (RE)awaken your awareness to your whole system and to see how your voice responds when your mind and body are functioning together.

These classes are inspired by the Alexander Technique and will include several physical explorations to gain more awareness of where we hold tension and how it impacts our voice.

Ideal for beginners who have no idea what’s happening in their body while singing AND for experienced singers who may have lots of ideas about the “correct” way one SHOULD sing - yet is still frustrated with the results!

This is a space to celebrate humanity and growth - YAY!

No matter your age or skill level, singing is something you’ve always had fun doing.  It’s a skill you want to explore and develop.  And you want someone to guide you through the learning process in a safe, supportive learning environment - allowing for messy learning and growth.

Singing is a process.  It is a journey.

As you change continuously (due to hormones, aging, and other physical challenges), your singing is impacted, and this is where people of all ages intersect.

At Your Instrumental Body, group singing classes are focused on more than the voice - they focus on the whole instrument.
(Ahem… YOUR BODY AND MIND as one entity!)

And when we focus on the whole system, we can find new ways to create healthy sounds that are appropriate for many styles.

More class topics are added throughout the year!

YOU ARE WOMAN - I WANT TO HEAR YOU ROAR!

It took me a long time to find my voice - my speaking voice, my written voice, and my singing voice.  It seemed easy when I was little, but somewhere along the way I hesitated, grew shy and insecure, and my voice was silenced.

This was especially true when I started going through hormone changes - both in my teens and in my later years.  And, to be honest, my voice is STILL fluctuating as I continue to sing through these changing years.

You know what has helped me - having a supportive group of women to navigate the changes with and realizing that I have SO MANY CHOICES to support my singing!

And you know what?

YOU DO TOO!!
