Colorado Springs & Online

For singers, seekers, and curious movers—discover your voice, unwind old patterns, and move through life with clarity and joy.

Your Instrumental Body

Your Instrumental Body
is a voice and Alexander Technique studio in Colorado Springs.

I teach singers whose voices are being held back by tension, not talent — and I work with movers who want more ease and coordination in daily life.

What is your body already doing?
And what happens when it stops bracing?

In singing and in life, Your Instrumental Body is the key to unlocking efficiency and vitality.

Voice Lessons

I never teach singing without the Alexander Technique — the two aren't separate for me. Every lesson works with your whole coordination, not just your vocal folds, so the tension that's actually limiting your range and tone finally has room to release.

You'll be met with curiosity, not correction. This is a place to discover your voice, not perform for a grade — for adult singers coming back to their voice, and teen performers building technique that holds up under pressure.

Alexander Technique

Not everyone I work with is a singer. Alexander Technique is hands-on, consent-based work that helps you notice and release the protective patterns your body has been holding — from an old injury, chronic tension, or years of quietly compensating around a pain that may not even be there anymore.

This isn't about fixing your posture. It's about learning to trust your body's coordination again, one specific pattern at a time — whether that's walking, lifting, sitting at a desk, or getting back to something you gave up.

Hi, I'm Amy —
a certified voice teacher and Alexander Technique teacher with over 20 years of experience.

I help singers and movers free their bodies so they can perform, and live, with more confidence and ease.

As a teacher, my goal is to inspire a healthy, whole-body coordination in my clients, enabling them to improve their singing, gain performance skills, and develop general health and the ability to live life with ease. My experiences singing musical theatre, big band/jazz, opera, country, and pop music across the US and internationally, combined with my Alexander Technique certification work, enable me to provide a relaxed and nurturing setting to develop a foundation for singers of all ages and stages.

A well-tuned body is the instrument for a well-lived life…
…and you deserve both.

What Clients are Saying

"Working in your voice studio has been the most helpful thing I've done in my young career. Your teaching has given me the opportunity to explore the voice in a manner I never thought possible. Having the opportunity to explore the idea of having freedom in the singing voice rather than a control over the voice has been extremely beneficial for me. I've learned to embrace taking risks rather than fearing a result that might not be what I originally desired. I've also learned that there is no sound more technically desirable than another and finding "my" voice is the most valuable thing I could focus on."

"I’m so grateful for you. You are an incredible singing teacher and with my complicated child, you have made a connection with him I could not have foreseen. Thank you for all you do."
