Your Instrumental Body
Wholehearted Singing Lessons & Alexander Technique in Colorado Springs & Online
It’s time to celebrate Your Instrumental Body.
Whether your goal is to sing a Bach aria without cracking or to make it up the stairs without falling (or both!), we all know that if your body isn’t feeling well, it can’t work well.
Inefficiencies in breath and movement, whether brought on through injury, misalignment, or just the stress of everyday living, can lead to chronic tension and pain that deprive us of making the music we want and even living the lives we want.
We might not even be aware of these inefficiencies. Sometimes we’ve lived with them for so long, we’ve forgotten what it was like before they became part of our bodies.
Maybe you’ve gotten used to the squeeze in your throat when you sing above the staff.
Or maybe you’ve come to expect the twinge in your hip when you kneel down at church.
Or maybe you’ve given up tennis or hiking altogether because it takes so long for your body to recover.
These are all signs that your body is asking for help.
It’s telling you that there’s a better way…a way that feels good and gets you back to doing the things you love.
In singing and in life, Your Instrumental Body is the key to unlocking efficiency and vitality.

~ Introducing Your Instrumental Body
Hi! I’m Amy,
and I help frustrated singers free their bodies and find their voices so that they can perform with confidence and joy.
As a teacher, my goal is to inspire a healthy, whole-body coordination in my clients, enabling them to improve their singing, gain performance skills, and develop general health and the ability to live life with ease. My experiences singing musical theatre, big band/jazz, opera, country, and pop music across the US and internationally, combined with my Alexander Technique certification work, enable me to provide a relaxed and nurturing setting to develop a foundation for singers of all ages and stages.
A well-tuned body is the instrument for a well-lived life…
…and you deserve both.

What Clients are Saying
"Working in your studio has been the most helpful thing I've done in my young career. Your studio has given me the opportunity to explore the voice in a manner I never thought possible. Having the opportunity to explore the idea of having freedom in the voice rather than a control over the voice has been extremely beneficial for me. I've learned to embrace taking risks rather than fearing a result that might not be what I originally desired. I've also learned that there is no sound more technically desirable than another and finding "my" voice is the most valuable thing I could focus on."
John Herman, Alumni and Student at Univ. Northern Colorado
"I’m so grateful for you. You are an incredible teacher and with my complicated child, you have made a connection with him I could not have foreseen. Thank you for all you do."
Miriam Roth, Voice Teacher, Singer, and Mom of private student Quinn
